MS Dhoni To Be An Army Lieutenant Colonel

It will be an owner-able moment for Indian cricket that on Tuesday Captain of Indian Cricket Team M.S Dhoni will don the Olive Green uniform ranks of Lieutenant Colonel in Army.

Chief Minister Arjun Munda writes to the Defense minister of India Shri A.K Antony to honor him for his useful contribution towards India in the field of cricket.

Sometime people used to call him as lucky man he leads India to win World Cup 2011 and also became the number 1 team in Test Cricket for the first time ever this year. As a captain of CSK he already won IPL trophy Champions League T-20.

Mumbai-based trainer Rao has also imparted lessons in close quarter battle techniques and commando combat training to Army Chief General V K Singh earlier in his career.
Kapil Dev is an honorary Lt Col in the Territorial Army, while Tendulkar is an honorary Group Captain in the Indian Air Force. So far, only 17 persons from different walks of life have been conferred with honorary ranks in the Indian Army in the post independence era.

Along with M.S Dhoni one more sports person will be honored tomorrow Olympic gold medalist shooter Abhinav Bindra.

"On November 1, the two officers are scheduled to be granted the rank of honorary Lt Col in the Territorial Army," Army officials said
